BELARUS: Financial Woes Lead to Hall in Disarmament

AIR DEFENSE FORCES IN Belarus shocked the world on 12 September when they shot an American hot-air balloon out of the sky, killing the two pilots. The balloonists had drifted into Belarusian airspace while participating in an international race. It was not the first time this year that the Belarusian military had made international headlines with a controversial move.
