ALBANIAN POLITICAL parties in Kosovo and Macedonia boast of a coordinated policy and of support from the ruling Democratic Party (PD) and other political organizations in Albania. Yet differences in the policies that have actually been adopted in Macedonia and Albania raise doubts over the alleged consensus between those two groups. In Kosovo, the longevity of the present agreement within the ethnic Albanian political structure depends on how quickly negotiations with Serbia over Kosovo's desired status as an independent republic lead to conflicts among the ethnic Albanian parties.
